Welcome to Playful Connections!

I understand that as parents, you want the best for your children. That's why I created Playful Connections - a facilitated social-emotional play group designed to support your child's emotional well-being and help them build strong connections with themselves and others.

I believe that learning and practicing emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, empathy, and cooperation can be fun! My program offers a variety of interactive games and activities that engage children of all neurotypes in a playful way, while enhancing their social skills, emotional development, sensory processing, and behavioral regulation skills.

As a facilitator, I provide opportunities for children to develop empathy and understanding of others' perspectives. This helps them develop the necessary skills to navigate social relationships with compassion and kindness.

Collaboration is a key aspect of my program. Group activities encourage children to work together, promoting cooperation and teamwork among peers. By engaging in these activities, your child will learn how to communicate effectively, share toys and ideas, and contribute positively to a group dynamic.

In addition to building social and emotional skills, I also focus on enhancing resilience and coping strategies in social situations through mindfulness and sensory-rich activities. These exercises help children develop self-awareness, manage stress effectively, and build a strong foundation for their overall well-being.

What Can You Expect?

Interactive Games & Activities

I use interactive games and activities to make learning about and practicing social skills and emotional regulation an enjoyable experience for children. Through play, they will acquire valuable skills in interacting with other children and managing their emotions effectively (with my guidance and support).

Story Time

Sorytelling teaches social expectations and how to engage in their own way, as well as problem-solving and conflict resolution skills through relatable narratives, like social stories. Children will engage with stories that inspire help them learn about themselves and others to help them think critically, empathize with others, and find creative solutions to social problems.

Cooperative Group Activities

Collaboration is key! Through group activities, children will learn how to share and work together, while improving emotional regulation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, empathy, and cooperation skills.

Personalized Group Sessions

Every child is unique! That's why these play groups don't have a set curriculum like many one-size-fits-all programs. All children are different and have different learning needs and styles, which is why themes and concepts are individualized based on group dynamics and individual social emotional and specific social communication needs.

Mindful Sensory Activities

Resilience and regulation are essential skills when navigating social situations. My mindfulness and sensory-rich exercises help children build resilience and regulation skills by teaching them coping strategies that promote calmness, focus, and self-awareness.

Regular Check-Ins & Group Progress Updates

I understand that support is crucial throughout the journey. As a facilitator, I am here to discuss how things are going after sessions, ensuring a positive experience for both you and your child. At the end of the program, I also provide a group parent session to celebrate your child's achievements and highlight areas for further growth.

What Some Families Have To Say...

Ty is outstanding, and has been a trusted and highly impactful part of our dyspraxic son Ilan‘s life. He has made resoundingly impressive progress. Ilan has persistent social control/outburst issues. Ty has provided and coached him with practical behavior and social strategies.

Jeff

We are so thankful for Ty. The fast progress in communication is truly amazing - he went from limited communication and biting other children to normal age-range levels! Thank you Ty!

Lian

Ty is so patient. My son has many problems in communication with others, but now he improved every aspect. As parents, we really feel so grateful for Ty's effort and we highly recommend Ty because they really care about the kids they support passionately.

We feel so lucky that we connected with Ty. Ty is amazing and had an uncanny ability to connect with our son (now 4) who has autism...he has made a lot of progress and we believe much of this is attributed to Ty’s skills.

Teresa

We highly recommend Ty - Ty‘s talented, adaptive, persistent, delivers results, and most importantly Ty clearly cares passionately about the kids and families they support.

Kunnins Family

We really appreciate Ty's service for our 9 year old Autistic son who has significant communication delays. Ty connected really well with our son. He always looked forward to their sessions.

Are My Play Groups Right For Your Child?

Answer the questions below to see if my facilitated play groups are right for your child:

  • Does your child have difficulty interacting with their peers?
  • Does your child have limited access to peer interactions?
  • Does your child seem to be limited in how they play with toys and people (e.g., hoard toys, get upset when others don’t play their way, grab toys vs. ask to share, functional play vs. imaginitive/pretend play, etc.)?
  • Does your child have difficulty making/keeping friends?
  • Does your child “get stuck” on one topic or type of toy (cars, trains, specific movies)?
  • Does your child have difficulty taking turns with others (during play and/or conversation)?
  • Does your child have difficulty focusing and controlling impulses (participating in activities, sitting in circle time, waiting)?
  • Does your child seem to have difficulty joining play or starting a conversation (uses physical means to interact with others, waits to be invited to play, etc.)?
  • Does your child have big emotions (frequent meltdowns with difficulty soothing, shuts down or blows up over seemingly “little” things, low frustration tolerance, etc.)?
  • Does your child have difficulty thinking flexibly (struggles with transitions to new or undesirable tasks, difficulty with changes in routine, gets upset when their expectations aren’t met/things don’t go their way)?
  • Does your child have a diagnosis or characteristics of Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, Pragmatic Language Disorder, Highly Sensitive Child, or similar?

These are some of the areas of development that I help children and their families develop. If your child's struggling with any of the above (or something similar, not listed)...
